Niels, when did you start at Belnet and why did you choose Belnet at the time?

I have always had an interest in IT, but it got under my skin when I started working at Belnet in 2017 and learned how internet connectivity exactly works. I was glad I was hired by Belnet as they’re not just a commercial internet provider but they play an important role in ensuring that data traffic runs smoothly between socially relevant actors such as higher education, hospitals, research, public administrations, etc.

Can you tell us more about your job as BNIX Business Lead?

In 2021, I took on the role of BNIX Business Lead. It is my job to enhance the BNIX platform by attracting new participants or by identifying new opportunities for our existing customers together with my colleagues from Networks and Customer Relations. The BNIX Reseller Program is an example of a new service we recently set up to allow our partners to resell BNIX services to remote participants.

What do you like best about your job?

The BNIX customers are new to me, but I enjoy making new contacts and getting to know the customers and their expectations better. Helping the customer to get the right solution is a really satisfying feeling.

The best thing about working at Belnet is being part of a great team. We are like one big family, we all support each other.

What do you enjoy when you are not working?

When I’m not working you can find me inspecting my hives, as I’m a passionate beekeeper. But I also enjoy running, inline-skating or having a drink with friends.
